THE BAKERY

“Tastes like Grandma’s” Bakery Items!

Do you ever miss those delicious, homemade, “taste like Grandma’s” baked goods? At The Flour Barn, we are happy to bring you those good, old-fashioned bakery items. We even use a lot of my Grandma’s recipes (along with some of our own)!

How did The Flour Barn Bakery all start? I, Kelli Knapp, started baking as a side hustle (a very small one) to have something to do from home as I raised my three little kiddos. For the first two years, I simply went to a local farmers’ market about seven times a year, taking a few orders from home in addition. I operated under the name “Kelli’s Baked Goods”. In 2017, my youngest went to school, and I began to expand the business. At that time, I decided a better, more creative name was necessary, and The Flour Barn Bakery was born (it wasn’t quite that easy)! In January of 2020, we moved the bakery out of our home and into the back room of the local soft serve shop. (More on that story below)

All of our products, excepting cakes, come baked, frosted, and FROZEN. Yes, we sell our baked goods frozen. Why? Freezing bakery products at their freshest point locks in that fresh taste. It also makes for a moister product. Since there are no preservatives added to our goods, they do not stay fresh long. If you do not plan to consume our products within 24 hours, we recommend that you keep them frozen. Products that are left out for more than 24 hours are still safe to eat; we just can’t guarantee that they will taste as fresh.

Our products are 100% guaranteed. If you don’t like something, not only do you get a refund, but we will also replace it if possible.

THE CREAMERY

In January of 2021, the owner of the soft serve shop (in the same building as The Bakery) asked if we would be interested in buying out her business. After much prayer and consideration, we decided to make the purchase. We operated the business under the original name for the first year (Sprat’s Soft Serve). Then, in January of 2022, we changed the name to The Flour Barn Creamery in order to integrate with the Bakery.

The creamery is very much so a family-run business; everyone helps out!
